It began in Afrika

Inspired by Berenice's work, I decided to finalize something. I took three days. I mean, the finalizing part. Some of you may be aware that I started this project more than a year ago.

Ohje / Pattern: African Flower Hexagon
Koko / Size: 122 x 140 cm
Lanka / Yarn: Novita Isoveli
  Koukku / Hook: 6 mm

Oi, onnea.
I don't know how much yarn was consumed. I lost the count a long time ago. But weight of the afgan is 2.5 kg. It is maybe a bit too small and far too thick and warm. I don't have a clue about its possible applications. A picnic blanket maybe? Or a baby blanket for someone? Whatever. The only important thing is that it is finished. I am so happy.

  1. Good gracious... just 3 days!!! Finishing and weaving in ends must be your superpower! It's so lovely, I like the sweet blue as the main colour, it works so well with such spicy colours.

  2. Oh, I wish I had such a superpower! Three days of sitting on the floor with a tapestry needle was quite hard. I just hope that the whole thing won't unravel when someone touches it.
The blue yarn has actually an awful shade (real baby blue) that I hate, but indeed it works with these colors.
